Policy Options and Exclusions for Cars
When you click the Policy Options and Exclusions menu option for an existing car policy, the Policy Options and Exclusions screen appears. This screen allows you to configure policy options around preferred vendors, car size, and excluded vendors.
Note: The reason codes for travelers to select when booking out-of-policy travel are set up on the Reason Codes screen.
The following table lists the guidelines for completing this screen. d. For policy to be applied to a preferred vendor with negotiated rates, in the XML response back from the vendor the ‘RateCategory’ attribute must be returned with a value of either ‘negotiated’ or ‘corporate

Note: If policy is based around preferred vendors, it is not recommended to use All Vendors as it can override preferred vendor markings. |
Exclusion Options |
Display only in policy rates: Select this option to display only rates that are in-policy. In some cases, travelers may see only one rate option. Note: Using this option may affect adoption rates of booking tool if travelers feel they are not able to book schedule-friendly options. All rules restriction options are enforced by CBT, not policy. CBT needs to read setting and enforce it. |

Note: Car size is determined by size, type, transmission and air conditioning specified on the Preferred Vendor screen and is not based on configured car size. For example, if the car size configured is FDAR, Universal Policy is looking at not only the F to determine in/out of policy, but also is considering the DAR. The match has to be on all four components if all four are configured.
